no regret

I sometimes wake in the early morning & listen to the soft breathing of my children & I think to myself, this is one thing I will never regret & I carry that quiet with me all day long.

It gave me a little ache -

... and that is a high complement for a blog post!

Owlhaven's "That's what daddies do" is one of the best blog posts I've read in a couple months.

Keeping busy

This is what has been keeping me moving.

Family. Theatre.

La dolce vita!

me and my precious sibs.

Steve, Jenn, Sport, Tiger, Blue, and niece Cupcake on her 2nd birthday. I look at this photo and think, "Wooo boy - that's going to be our family dynamic in a few months when baby girl comes home! Are we ready?"

waiting

"Waiting is our destiny as creatures who cannot by themselves bring about what they hope for.
We wait in the darkness for a flame we cannot light;
We wait in fear for a happy ending we cannot write;
We wait for a not yet that feels like not ever.
Waiting is the hardest work of hope."

Court Date

Woot!!!!

"Your court date is scheduled for March 6th. Once a family is approved in court, travel occurs 4-6 weeks later allowing time for the adoption decree to be printed/translated/legalized, and the birth certificate and passport to be processed."

It's real! It's real! We're really going to be bringing her home!!

Case Submitted!

We heard today that our case has been submitted to court in Ethiopia! One more step complete in the process of bringing home our daughter. Now we wait to hear of our court date. Our court date is estimated to be the end of February or early March. If we pass then we travel to bring her home 4-5 weeks after that. These estimates are very fluid. We're easy with that by now. Our little girl is receiving good care. Traveling families have been sending us photos of her. And she will come home when the time is perfect both for her and us. Oh but it's sweet to know we're just a little closer to that day!
